Craft at the Schrotholz Barn Bergen

The Schrotholz Barn in Bergen was restored according to regulations for historical monuments as testimony of century-old woodwork art. Benches along the barn floor are ideal for a pause. Peace and tranquillity will find the visitor with a view into the country garden.
Apart from exhibitions by local painters, potter, clubs and so forth there is also a special exhibition with the theme 'Springtime/Easter', which takes place annually takes place annually. From the beginning of spring to the start of summer visitors are able to view apart from Easter exhibits more than 1.000 decorated Easter eggs from families of the Elsterheide villages, from famous folk artists of the Lausitz as well as from home and abroad.
While the exhibitions at the ground floor change several times during the year houses the upper floor a permanent exhibition where folk art and Sorbian customs; from flax to thread; hand woven country linen and much more is presented. The old carpenter's craft can be experienced close-up. In the Barn's side room show workshop a piece of hand-painted glass or porcelain becomes a unique item.
